Thaesis is a dynamic strategy consultancy based in Utrecht, founded in 2006. With a young, energetic and diverse team of 12 sharp and creative consultants, we strive to make a meaningful social impact for our clients. We focus on strategic, organizational, and innovation challenges within three key sectors in the Netherlands: healthcare, education and media. Though, we also work with other mission-driven organizations that align with our purpose: strategy for organizations that do good. 

We guide a wide variety of projects in the Netherlands, such as: 

• Helping a healthcare provider develop a distinctive, valuable and affordable care profile in collaboration with local partners; 

• Leading an innovation program for a public broadcaster to reach younger, unheard audiences; 

• Supporting an educational organization in defining its future strategy, tackling challenges like teacher shortages and shrinking regions. 

Our approach is collaborative and facilitating. We don’t act as external experts pretending to have all the answers, but as strategic guides who believe that most knowledge is already present within the organization. By working closely with client teams, we ensure ownership and momentum throughout the process. This way, strategies don’t end up in a drawer but come to life and spark real change. 

About the traineeship 

Thaesis offers a full-time traineeship for talented, Dutch-speaking students at the end of their studies. From day one, you work as part of the team and contribute to projects in fast-changing and socially relevant sectors. You support consultants with research, analysis and session design, and you gradually take on more responsibility. 

We’re looking for curious minds with sharp analytical skills, a passion for societal issues and a drive to grow. You’ll get regular feedback and guidance, and space to explore where your strengths and interests lie. Our compact team allows you to learn quickly, work on real challenges and grow into a consultant role after the traineeship. 

Thaesis at NCE 

At NCE, Thaesis will host a company presentation, an interactive workshop and we’ll attend the company fair. During our interactive workshop at NCE, you’ll step into the shoes of a Thaesis consultant. You’ll work in small teams on a real-life strategic challenge, based on one of our recent cases. Using our creative tools and methods, we’ll guide you through the process of exploring the issue, identifying insights, and formulating sharp, actionable advice. 

This is not just a simulation; it reflects how we truly work: collaboratively, thoughtfully and impact driven. You’ll get a taste of our culture, our clients, and the way we think. Most importantly, you’ll walk away with a clearer idea of what strategy consulting for the public good really looks like and whether it’s something for you.
